New York Times Notables
The NYT Notable Books list is out. Whatever the canon is (or is not, or is becoming), this list is one of the places that inclusion among Books People Respect can begin.

the only one i've read is eggers's "how we are hungry." it's not his best, but some of the stories are reaallly good. others are ok.
i was surprised to see harry potter on there for some reason. i didn't expect to see something popular on a list that could become THE CANNON.
