Grendel's Mother

So, one of the world's best bands, The Mountain Goats, has a song that I think the Beowulf loving members of this club should hear. I haven't read John Gardner's Grendel, but I guess this is probably the musical equivalent.

There are some strange references in the song: "from here all the way to Singapore." But I think it's a pretty great song when it comes to sympathizing with Grendel's Mother, who I've always thought wasn't such a monster, just an angry mother.
